School Partnerships

Our Vision: Our Little Brothers and Little Sisters will live and learn in positive, opportunity rich environments 24x7sm.

Our vision can only be fulfilled through the development of successful school partnerships.

This country grew on the basic principle that education was the primary tool for the advancement and betterment of the individual and of the larger society. In many fundamental ways the concept of education and our hopes of an educated society remain the same - Americans need to be able to read and write. We need these skills and many more so we can fulfill our role as citizens, build our country and provide for ourselves and our families. We still believe that an educated and prosperous society will be a more peaceful society. And, we still expect parents to be their children’s first teachers.

Our partnerships with schools and families are an extension of our national legacy. We understand that education is not a private matter but one of great public concern. That is why we are so determined to build trusting and supportive partnerships with our schools and teachers. We are all critical stakeholders - parents, teachers and community - and together through the sharing of responsibility and information we can surround our Littles – from morning to night – with caring, committed and compassionate adults. It sounds cliché, but when we achieve this vision, we don’t simply change one child’s life, we change a school serving hundreds of kids, a neighborhood, a city and ultimately a nation.

Our model of partnering with schools is customized, but many times requires our staff to be embedded in the school, as in our ABCToday!sm. This allows our program staff to build closer relationships with school administrators, teachers, Littles and parents and enhance the culture and environment.
