Meet The 4:1+1sm Team!
Traditional mentoring models focus on the mentor and mentee or ‘Big’ and ‘Little.’ We know that it takes a whole team of caring adults to truly transform a young person’s life.
We engage the most significant adults in a Little's life – parent, teacher, Big Brother or Big Sister and our professional program staff. That way the Little is surrounded by the people who care about them the most. The members of the team are mentors, friends, cheerleaders and advocates. Each have important relationships and different roles to play that offer our Littles encouragement and support.
The power of these relationships is in the sharing of information and perspectives, aligning the adults for the benefit of Little and bridging the gap between home and school. We also make a point to include the Sixth Membersm on the team, the donor, who makes it all possible!
